WHY BIG DAY SHABBOS?
It's Shabbat Clothing in Hebrew. "Big day" often transliterated as bigdei is the construct form for "clothing" and refers the special clothing worn on shabbat to make it special. The meaning is deeper still. The Zionist Ahad Ha'am (Asher Zvi Hirsch Ginsberg) is quoted saying that "more than Jews have kept Shabbat; Shabbat has kept the Jews." He also was a founder of "Cultural Zionism" and when you put these things together you get Big Day Shabbos.
